Resources
are one of the most valuable commodities in a business. Optimizing the
use of people and equipment is performed with the Resources module. Not
only can you track the cost and usage of resources, but you can also set
resource capacities and then predict and manage availability of resources.
The Resource module also allows for flexible pricing models to make invoicing
in Sales & Receivables or recording costs in jobs even easier.
Basic Resources
This feature provides a resource table, a resource ledger, and a resource journal for recording resource transactions. A resource can be a person or a machine. Navision Financials lets you set up specific costs and sale prices for each resource. The resource ledger keeps track of usage and sales of resources. When integrated with Basic job Cost and Customer Invoicing, the system provides complete and fully-integrated job costing and time and billing functionality.
Resource Capacity
Resource
Capacity lets you assign capacities to resources or resource groups or
both. When integrated with Job Cost, resources can be allocated to job
budgets to provide "complete capacity" planning on an hourly
basis. Tools to re-allocate jobs to different resources and resource groups
allow for a detailed resource plan. Availability windows show how a capacity
is allocated to active job orders and what has been allocated for potential
orders (job estimates/budgets). Requires Basic Resources.
Multiple Sales Prices
Like Multiple Price Lists in Inventory, this feature allows alternative prices for resources depending on the type of customer as well as the type of job. Each resource can perform different types of work, with different prices assigned to each type of work. The sales prices are used in Job Budgets/Estimates as well as in Customer Invoicing and usage recording. Requires Basic Resources.
